International Telecommunication Union or otherwise known as ITU Telecom World is specialised agency for information & communication technologies or ICTs. The agency organised the global ITU Telecom World event, giving the opportunity for innovation showcasing, high-level debate, knowledge-sharing, and networking for the governments, industry leaders, small & medium enterprise (also known as SMEs), as well as regulators that form part of the world’s ICT community. From the 25th – 28th September 2017, ITU Telecom World was held in Busan, South Korea. The events were consists of Exhibition, Forum, Networking, SME Focus, ITU Telecom World Award as well as Press Conference organised by ITU and the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. In order to represent Indonesia, the Ministry of Communication & Informatics are preparing Indonesia’s own booth Exhibit by Indonesia’s Communication Minister, Mr Rudiantara called Pavilion Indonesia. He invites the members of successful companies such as Tokopedia, Telkom Indonesia, Modalku, Cashlez, Nurbaya Initiative, Tukangsayur.com, to do a talkshow in the Busan Expo, while 1.000 startup served as a judge. A defining moment that was shown during the event is when Modalku won the Global SME Excellence Award Innovative Solutions to promote financial inclusion, Telekom Indonesia won the award for the category of Corporate Award for health field, and lastly Indonesia’s Communications Minister Mr Rudiantara was also awarded for the Recognition of Excellence Certificate of his role in sending key messages on solving wealth disparities through digitally empowered small enterprises. Along with the Exhibition as well as the talkshow events that was held at the Busan Expo, the Ministerial Roundtable offers a unique to share national experiences and best practices in advancing smart digital transformation, the Minister of Communication & Information Technology Mr Rudiantara invites the Ministers of the world to participate. The Ministerial Round table provides a global platform to highlight opportunities for partnership and investment in local markets, as well as key challenges to development which could be met by collaboration within the international community.
