Indonesian Tree Planting Day

Indonesian Tree Planting Day

Just a couple days ago, 28th November to be exact, Indonesia was celebrating its Tree Planting Day based on President Decree Number 24 on 2008. At the time of it, our President asked all of us to plant at least one tree, and later this program called One Man One Tree.
All of this started because of the situation of our forest that’s getting worse from time to time. The government, organizations, and some concerned citizens try to help preventing deforestation by planting tree and stopping illegal logging.
Deforestation is one of concerning problem to us, since elementary school we have thought that tree is important in our life to be one of the factor that can prevent flood, landslide, and drought. Now, it’s become even wider, our forest is important to all living person on this earth as the global warming issues is growing bigger.
Now, what we can do to help? As some of you may think that planting a tree is quiet troublesome, you can help by reducing the use of products generated from tree. Paper for example, reduce your paper use by using the blank side of unused paper, or by printing on both side of paper. This way you’re not only saving the tree but your budget. There are many ways you can do to help, start with little things.
Happy Indonesia Tree Planting Day Folks!
