The Indonesia Art & Culture Scholarship Program is an education program about learning Indonesia’s finest art & culture. In 2019, over 72 participants from overseas joined the Indonesia Art & Culture Scholarship Program that have had taken foreign students to 6 different cities in Indonesia. The cities that were chosen to be part of the program were Padang, Makassar, Yogyakarta, Bali, Kutai Kartanegara, and Banyuwangi.
As participants arrived in the capital city, they began their program in Jakarta for one week. Learning Indonesia as a country, as well as its art and culture. After one week of learning and touring, participants were divided into 6 groups going to 6 different cities and began their journey of 3 months education about Indonesia’s finest art, culture, as well as the language in each cities. A partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided the art & culture education facilities as well as the accommodation for participants.
3 months of art & culture studies passed by, 72 participants reunited in Banyuwangi for its closing event to perform the art & culture that each group studied. Participants perform in front of important guests such as Indonesia’s Foreign Minister as well as Banyuwangi’s Regent. The closing event also serves a farewell for participants before going back to each of their own country.
Every year, the Indonesia Art & Culture Scholarship Program for foreigners to come and learn about the Indonesian culture are becoming more opened. Indonesia Art & Culture Scholarship Program is about a study program learning about art & culture, and beneficial of promoting and increasing the awareness of Indonesian culture overseas for more foreigners to come and learn as well as joining future art and culture scholarship program.
