The Ministry of Foreign Affairs brought an event that is full of 5000 crowds in the city of Padang at the University of Andalas called Diplomacy Festival (Diplofest). This event is to teach students the importance of diplomacy in order to be close to people. The event is consisted of public lecture for students to discuss Indonesian diplomacy along with various guest lectures who are fellow diplomats like Director General of Multilateral, Mr. Febrian A. Ruddyard & Indonesia’s Foreign Minister, Mrs. Retno Marsudi. Students learned the experience of what it’s like to contribute world peace to security council session of the United Nations
An education fair was also held in Diplofest, where students could visit different booths from different scholarship program, guides to become a diplomat, and job vacancies at International Organization. Students also got the chance to discuss and exchange knowledge with fellow Indonesian diplomats. The event also held music performances from Indonesian artists such as RAN, Payung Teduh, and Yura Yunita.
The city of Padang is the fourth city where Diplofest is held, and its hope to support people, especially students of the millennial to understand the knowledge of diplomacy and become a part of the Indonesian diplomacy. The most important lesson of the event is that diplomacy is for everyone.
